Ivan Ervas, Dimitri Basilico and Giulia Girardi, born respectively in Meda (MB) in 1974, Castellanza (VA) in 1973 and S. Donà di Piave (VE) in 1983, live and work as designers in Italy. In 2001 they founded the ErvasBasilicoGirardi studio. Ivan and Dimitri attended together and graduated from the Politecnico in Milan with honours, whilst Giulia studied between Milan, Los Angeles and Santo Domingo. All three have a series of professional experiences, some at Brunel University Faculty of Technology Department of Design in London, others at Holmes College in Sydney and others at La Salle in Santo Domingo, taking different paths in design. In 1999 they are the founding partners of Integrated Team srl, where they deal with design and research and join the ADI association for industrial design. Giulia works on interior design projects on the Caribbean coast. One teaches project methodology at the Politecnico di Milano Faculty of Design, the other teaches design at the International College of Arts & Sciences and at the ISGMD Istituto Superiore di Grafica Moda e Design. They have been involved in design for over 20 years, both nationally and internationally, in the most diverse product sectors: from furniture to industrial machinery, from household appliances to lighting, from bathrooms to household goods, from mass-produced electronic products to interior architecture, following the entire production process that leads to the creation of a new product – from the idea to engineering to the final graphic communication. They get various awards and publications in major newspapers. Born with a culture of innovation, they pay attention to technological research and design images and objects between art and industrial design. In their creations and theorizations, they combine technology with magic, methodology with play and surprise.
